Ukes at 20's Paces

Special announcement: As part of the Blue Mountains Roaring 20's Festival, this special show will showcase fabulous ukulele music from the era.

In the ‘Roaring 20’s’ the ukulele and things Hawaiian reached epidemic popularity. The attraction was that it was portable, affordable and so it became associated with the hip, young flappers who used it to play the early jazz tunes.

The Fleas are Rob, Karl, Col and Tay who get together to ply their musical trade on the ‘Jumping flea’, the ukulele. They will be joined by Khristina Joy whose vibrant singing style and interpretation has made her popular with both audiences and peers alike.
